Event Information

Stratford Jazz Club is well and truly back on Rother Street. Stratford Jazz are back and will be bringing you high quality, modern jazz every second Wednesday of the month. Next up… Nick Costley-White Trio!

Nick Costley-White is one of the most in-demand jazz guitarists in the UK. Renowned for a deep understanding of the jazz tradition, he combines his virtuoso technique with a uniquely distinctive style of improvisation. Costley-White has performed with many of the UK’s most celebrated musicians, and played to audiences across Europe, Asia and Australia.

Nick has lead his trio with bebop drumming virtuoso Josh Morrison (Stacey Kent, Eric Alexander) and mainstay of the UK jazz scene Tom Farmer (Empirical, Anoushka Shankar) on double bass for over 5 years. Performing on a weekly basis has given them the unique opportunity to develop a profound chemistry built on a shared love of American jazz tradition and language. They continue to build on their expansive repertoire of compositions from the greatest jazz composers of the last 70 years; Woody Shaw, Cedar Walton, Horace Silver & Joe Henderson.
