STATIONTOSTATION presents Smoove and Turrell

Seeing Smoove & Turrell live is a high-energy experience defined by infectious “Northern Funk,” working-class charm, and an inclusive party atmosphere. Live you will hear a unique fusion of funk, soul, northern soul, hip-hop, and electronica that feels both timeless and grounded in contemporary reality. Unlike their polished studio work, their live sets feature a full band that leaves room for improvisation and “nice surprises”.

According to Northern Soul magazine Smoove and Turrell have evolved into one of the UK’s most respected live acts, frequently compared to the wild, visual energy of Parliament/Funkadelic. They describe their shows as “powerhouse” performances with “electric chemistry” designed specifically to get audiences dancing.

Their album Stratos Bleu hit number one on the UK Dance Album Chart and was named Album of the Year by The Face Radio community, which also awarded their single “Do It” Single of the Year. They have recorded many live radio sessions on UK and European stations including BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 6 Music, and BBC Radio Newcastle. twice winning “Record of the Week” on BBC Radio 2 and securing a spot on the BBC 6 Music playlist. The band has played many festivals including Glastonbury in 2010.

Expect a great night out and to start to believe that Stratford upon Avon can be a place to hear the best live bands in the UK.

There will be a DJ from 19:30pm with Smoove & Turrell taking the stage from 21:00pm
